Week St. Mary is a small village set 7 miles from the very popular seaside resort of Bude. It is also surrounded by 7 other villages Marhamchurch, Whitstone, North Tamerton, Boyton, North Petherwin, Jacobstow and Poundstock.

Week St. Mary is built on a steep hill above the valley of the River Kensey and is a thriving village that attracts many visitors during the summer months when they come to visit the yearly Scarecrow Festival. During this time many villagers of all ages build their own scarecrows and put them on display outside their homes as part of a trail around the village. Visitors are also drawn in to visit the Week St. Mary Revel this is also a yearly occasion.

Week St. Mary is a thriving village which has a post office within the village shop. It also has a bakery and a very popular Public House the Green Inn. At the Green Inn you can relax and enjoy a drink or sample one of their lovely evening meals, or even a Sunday roast.

Week St. Mary is mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086. In the 15th century a shepherdess resided in the village but left for London, returning soon after the death of her third husband (the lord mayor of London in 1497) back to Week St. Mary and put her money to good use; building a school which is now a string of attractive cottages.
