Wiveliscombe is a town in Somerset just eleven miles from Somerset county of Taunton and 5 miles from the Devon/Somerset border and provides a gateway to Exmoor.

Wiveliscombe has broad selection of shops along with other general amenities such as a post office, a bank, hairdressers and everything else a small town desires.

The Church of St Andrew dates from 1827-9 and was built from red sandstone with Hamstone dressings, although the font is octagonal and originated in the 14the century. The architect was Richard Carver. The church has been designated by English Heritage as a grade II* listed building. Within the churchyard is a 14th century Sandstone cross

There is a primary school which also serves the surrounding areas and Kingsmead Community school which caters for school goers over the age of 11 and in 1998 was named as one of the top 50 schools in the country. The school houses a Theatre and Sports Hall and a youth club and playgroup complementing the town's Recreation Ground where the Tennis, Rugby, Cricket and Football Clubs have their bases.
